Year Two

Welcome to Year 2

Welcome to Year 2!

Class Teacher: Mrs B. Richmond

Teaching Assistant: Mrs E. Walls

PPA Teaching: Mrs D. Taylor

Homework

The children will receive English and Maths homework every week. Homework is given out on a Friday and should be returned on a Wednesday.  I would ask that the children attempt the homework independently but please support your child if needed. As well as this, I do ask that you read regularly with your child. Even if they have read the book, it is good practice to re-read the book so your child becomes more confident and fluent.

Reading Books / Library Books

Each child will be given a school book to bring home to read. Please return the reading diary and school book each day so we are able to read with your child. Book change days are Mondays and Thursdays.

Reading and Reflection Areas:

We have a dedicated reading area in class.  The reading area has a wide selection of fiction and non-fiction books, which the children love to read.

We have a reflection area where the children are allowed to spend time reflecting upon anything that has happened in class or at home that week. We also use this as the basis for our class worship.

General Reminders

The children will be doing PE on Mondays. Please ensure your child comes to school in their PE kit (navy blue shorts/joggers/leggings, white t-shirt, pumps/trainers, Copp hoodie/cardigan/jumper). Children should not be wearing grey or black leggings/joggers/shorts. All items of clothing needs to be clearly labelled.

In Key Stage 1 the children receive free fruit as a mid-morning snack.

If your child wishes to have milk please register and pay via the website www.coolmilk.com and register. Cool Milk will then add your child to the list, ready for the following week.
