    GENERAL Y6 INFORMATION

    Staff in Year 6

    Class Teachers: Mrs Macdonald
Teaching Assistants: Mrs Stone and Mrs Taylor

    Targets

The Year 6 children have English, maths and personal targets (which are in their reading records). Please ask your child their current targets as they should know them.

    Homework

English and maths homework will be given on a Friday to be returned to school by the following Wednesday at the latest please. Spelling homework will be given on a Monday and needs to be completed by the following Monday. TTRockstars, Prodigy and Spelling Shed are all available for the children to use at home.

    Reading Books / Library Books

Your child will continue to have access to reading books from the class library. Children should be aiming to read every night, as reading is vital to the whole curriculum. Reading records should be filled in and brought to school everyday.

    Reading Area

We have a dedicated reading area in class. The reading area contains a wide selection of books and magazines that the children are able to choose from each week.

    Before and After School

At the beginning of the school day, before registration (8.40 – 8.55) the children will have different maths, reading and writing activities to complete throughout the year.

School finishes at 3.15pm. Children will be dismissed from the front of school. If you wish for your child to walk/cycle home on their own, please contact the office.

    General Reminders

The children will be doing PE on a Tuesday. Please ensure they come to school wearing their PE kit on a Tuesday. PE kit consists of blue/black shorts/leggings/track suit bottoms, a white t-shirt and their Copp school jumper/cardigan or their Copp School hoodie.

The children may also bring in their own water bottles from in from home, but please make sure that they are labelled.

    Finally

I hope that this will be an enjoyable year for all the children. Please feel free to contact us if there are any problems or anything which you wish to discuss.

Thank you for visiting our class page.
