Welcome

Welcome to Great Eccleston Copp Church of England Primary School!

In building solid foundations for every unique individual and putting God’s love at the centre of all we do, our children learn to embrace our diverse world. We encourage our children to learn universally in order to understand our heritage and roots as a village, town, region and nation.

Through strong community links, our children grow in wisdom and understanding, promote justice and possess aspirations to make a positive difference. We offer an ambitious curriculum that ignites curiosity along with high personal expectations that fosters resilience  and which enables them to flourish.  Our children are easily distinguished by the humility they show.  They make  brave choices and understand the importance of becoming the very best versions of themselves.

Our statement of intent demonstrates the core values we focus upon in our school.  In addition to our Gospel values, children are encouraged to be the very best versions of themselves.  To achieve this, we ensure our pupils have a broad and balanced curriculum, built from solid starting points in pre-school and Early Years.  This approach enables us to find the inner artist, historian, writer or athlete within our children.  We foster curiosity in our approach to learning and ensure our pupils are passionate about the world around them.  We understand children have different interests, skills, talents and we make it our mission to find out what this may be.

Our village school is at the heart of our community.   We work closely with lots of different people who really understand our school and pupils.  Every decision we make is child-focused, so that our school is constantly evolving to fit the needs of our children and families. We are very proud of our happy, thoughtful, confident pupils, who are excellent ambassadors for the love and caring which stems from our Christian Vision.  We enjoy a happy, small-school ethos where everyone is valued and nurtured as an individual and where we encourage our children to develop a range of Christian values, to help them be better equipped to respect and value others around them.   We strive for finding out what each child excels at or enjoys and aim to build on this throughout their journey with us.

We have a dedicated team of staff and governors, who work hard to reach high standards in everything we do; this is further embedded through our successful relationships with parents, our PTFA, the local and wider community, and the Diocese.  We firmly believe that education is a partnership between home and school and very much value our families as active partners in their child's education.

We do not hold formal open days as we believe that we would like you to see our school on a 'normal' day.  You are more than welcome to make an appointment to see our wonderful school by calling our Bursar : Helen Lawrenson on 01995 670969.
