Free school meals are offered to children of families who are in receipt of:

 

• Income Support
• Job Seekers Allowance (Income based)
• Support under par t VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
• The Guaranteed element of State Pension Credit
• Income related Employment Support Allowance

 

Child Tax Credit and are not entitled to Working Tax Credit and your annual income, as assessed by the Inland Revenue, does not exceed £16,190 (April 10 figure).

 

The Government does not allow us to recognise any other benefit other than those mentioned above.

 

How to apply.

 

To apply, complete an application form (https://www.lancashire.gov.uk/catering/parent-and-pupil-information/free-school-meals/) or simply ring your local Area Education Office with details of your name, date of birth and National Insurance number and an immediate on-line decision can be given. You do not need to re-apply annually, your children will continue to receive free school meals unless you cease to be entitled, and the Council will let you know should that arise.
