Educational Visits

In building solid foundations for every unique individual and putting God’s love at the centre of all we do, our children learn to embrace our diverse world. We encourage our children to learn universally in order to understand our heritage and roots as a village, town, region and nation.

Through strong community links, our children grow in wisdom and understanding, promote justice and possess aspirations to make a positive difference. We offer an ambitious curriculum that ignites curiosity along with high personal expectations that fosters resilience  and which enables them to flourish.  Our children are easily distinguished by the humility they show.  They make  brave choices and understand the importance of becoming the very best versions of themselves.

At Great Eccleston Copp, we understand how learning can be brought to life and contextualised by appropriate and well-planned visits.

Educational visits are carefully mapped out within subjects to ensure children receive a variety of experiences throughout their journey through Great Eccleston Copp CE Primary school.  For example. in geography, children visit the local area to secure understanding of map reading or in history, children visit an old working mill to enhance their understanding of the Industrial Revolution.

Educational visits not only enhance our curriculum, but are used also within Physical Education where classes in Upper Juniors visit Winmarleigh and Tower Wood to make the most of the Outdoor and Adventurous activities.

As much as educational visits build on curriculum knowledge, skills and experience, they also build resilience, problem solving, communication and understanding of the world around us.
