Our Values

In building solid foundations for every unique individual and putting God’s love at the centre of all we do, our children learn to embrace our diverse world. We encourage our children to learn universally in order to understand our heritage and roots as a village, town, region and nation.  Through strong community links, our children grow in compassion and understanding, promote justice and possess commitment and aspire to make a positive difference. We offer an ambitious curriculum that ignites curiosity along with high personal expectations that fosters resilience  and which enables them to flourish.  Our children are easily distinguished by the courage they show when making brave choices and understand the importance of becoming the very best versions of themselves.

Our Christian Statement embeds all of what we do in school.  We want our children to become the very best version of them selves and as such as strive to make a difference to children's moral character.

In addition to our six values, we also have a half termly Christian value that we focus upon during our worship and Sprirituality Days in school.

Our Year 6 Christian Ambassador is Howard.  Howard helps to lead our Worship and Values Group and his role is to offer a Christian perspective on our planning and presence within and beyond school.

Values Assemblies

At the end of each half term, we hold a special Values Assembly.  Teachers actively look for children who are shining examples of these values in their day-to-day lives in school.  Class teachers nominate a child to be put forward for the award and staff discuss each child on merit.  We recognise that even being nominated for an Value Award is a huge achievement.

AWARDS 2025 - 26

AUTUMN 1 2025

COMPASSION : Henry, Y1

Henry was nominated for the value of compassion because he has demonstrated care and concern for others within his year group. He has grown and developed greatly over this half term and it has been wonderful see him taking care of his peers. One such example was when Henry could see another child was upset and a little bit cross. Henry noticed and very calmly and quietly, without being asked, fetched the other child's favourite resource and gave it to them aid regulation.  Henry has also been very compassionate, thoughtful and engaged in our My Happy Mind lessons, so much so that after each session he has chosen to read the appropriate stories and talk about Team Hap. He has also requested our Happy Breathing videos and Mindfulness Bubbles to promote our happy breathing techniques. Keep trying your best Henry and I am sure you will do yourself proud being our My Happy Mind Hero Representative in Year 1.  Well done!

UNDERSTANDING : Vincenzo, Y6

Vinny has been awarded the value of understanding. He has shown a clear awareness of the difference between equality and equity, and the importance of ensuring fairness for everyone. Beyond this, he is caring, compassionate, and has a supportive attitude towards his peers. He is a fantastic cheerleader for his peers, recognising when people are nervous about doing something and offering lots of positive praise. Vinny demonstrates all the time that he truly lives out our values.

Well done for combining knowledge with kindness — an inspiring example of understanding for all!

JUSTICE : Nell, YR

Nell sets a wonderful example for others through her kind, responsible and thoughtful behaviour. She shows true justice for all in her words and actions. She always strives to do the right thing and supports her classmates in making good choices too. Her engagement and effort in every activity are truly commendable . We are super proud of her start to her journey in reception!

ASPIRE : Jude, Y2

Jude has shown an incredible attitude towards his learning, especially in writing. He has gone above and beyond — completing extra homework most weeks and producing amazing pieces linked to our class learning. When we were exploring the Bible, he even created his own special book and scroll! In class, Jude is always focused, eager to do more, and takes great pride in everything he produces. He is a wonderful example of what it means to aspire and give your best. Well done, Jude!

RESILIENCE : Abigail, Y3

Abigail has been nominated for the value of resilience for her fantastic growth in this area since the beginning of Year 3. She now approaches challenges with a much more positive and determined attitude. Where she may have once hesitated or doubted herself, she now shows the confidence to have a go, even when things feel tricky. Whether it’s tackling a difficult maths question or trying something new in writing, Abigail perseveres and keeps going, showing real determination to succeed – resilience in action. It has been a joy to watch Abigail’s personal growth in such a short space of time. Keep up the amazing work!

COURAGE : William, Y4

William has truly demonstrated our value of courage this half term. At the start of Year 4’s swimming lessons, William was understandably a little nervous. However, over the weeks, his confidence has grown tremendously. He now looks forward to each session with excitement and often chats enthusiastically on the coach ride back about what he achieved. William no longer needs support from the swimming teacher and is eager to complete the lessons independently. He consistently pushes himself to try new things, including bravely jumping into the water. I am incredibly proud of William and have loved watching his courage and confidence grow each week.

CHRISTIAN VALUE AWARD

AUTUMN 1 - THANKFULNESS : Evie, Y3

Evie is a shining example of thankfulness in our school community. She consistently shows appreciation towards both her peers and teachers, always taking the time to say thank you with sincerity and kindness. Whether it’s for help given, kind words, or shared moments, Evie never lets an opportunity to show gratitude pass her by.

Furthermore, it has been lovely to see Evie’s thoughtful encouragement of thankfulness in others. She gently reminds her classmates to appreciate the people and moments around them, helping everyone reflect on the importance of gratitude in our daily lives. Well done Evie, you are an asset to Year 3.
