Our Values
In building solid foundations for every unique individual and putting God’s love at the centre of all we do, our children learn to embrace our diverse world. We encourage our children to learn universally in order to understand our heritage and roots as a village, town, region and nation. Through strong community links, our children grow in compassion and understanding, promote justice and possess commitment and aspire to make a positive difference. We offer an ambitious curriculum that ignites curiosity along with high personal expectations that fosters resilience and which enables them to flourish. Our children are easily distinguished by the courage they show when making brave choices and understand the importance of becoming the very best versions of themselves.
Our Christian Statement embeds all of what we do in school. We want our children to become the very best version of them selves and as such as strive to make a difference to children's moral character.
In addition to our six values, we also have a half termly Christian value that we focus upon during our worship and Sprirituality Days in school.
Our Year 6 Christian Ambassador is Howard. Howard helps to lead our Worship and Values Group and his role is to offer a Christian perspective on our planning and presence within and beyond school.
Values Assemblies
At the end of each half term, we hold a special Values Assembly. Teachers actively look for children who are shining examples of these values in their day-to-day lives in school. Class teachers nominate a child to be put forward for the award and staff discuss each child on merit. We recognise that even being nominated for an Value Award is a huge achievement.
AWARDS 2025 - 26
COMPASSION : Aria, Year 2 (Autumn 2, 2025)
Recently, a friend was feeling very upset and frustrated, struggling with the cold, and finding it hard to enjoy break time. Without anyone asking her to, Aria noticed how this child was feeling and took it upon herself to wrap them up warmly in her own scarf, hat, and gloves, showing compassion in action and when most needed. She did this entirely of her own kindness, expecting no thanks or recognition, simply because she wanted to help. Her thoughtful actions cheered her friend up and allowed them to join in playtime happily. Aria’s compassion, empathy, care, and selflessness are a wonderful example of living our school values every day.

Henry noticed and very calmly and quietly, without being asked, fetched the other child's favourite resource and gave it to them aid regulation. Henry has also been very compassionate, thoughtful and engaged in our My Happy Mind lessons, so much so that after each session he has chosen to read the appropriate stories and talk about Team Hap. Arthur showed remarkable courage when it came to the Nativity. During his time at pre-school, he struggled with his confidence during his involvement with this activity and found it difficult to overcome this. Last year – this struggle with confidence led to him not taking part. However, this year, staff have noticed a huge shift in his courage and he was able to overcome his nerves to take part in the Nativity. Not only did Arthur take part – he even had lines to say too! Well done Arthur.
COURAGE : William, Y4 (Autumn 1, 2025)
William has truly demonstrated our value of courage this half term. At the start of Year 4’s swimming lessons, William was understandably a little nervous. However, over the weeks, his confidence has grown tremendously. He now looks forward to each session with excitement and often chats enthusiastically on the coach ride back about what he achieved. William no longer needs support from the swimming teacher and is eager to complete the lessons independently. He consistently pushes himself to try new things, including bravely jumping into the water. I am incredibly proud of William and have loved watching his courage and confidence grow each week.
CHRISTIAN VALUE AWARD
AUTUMN 2 - TRUST : Lucas, Y5
Lucas showed the value of Trust by following the Christian value of honesty and kindness when he found some money after school on the path. Even though no one was around and he could have kept it, Lucas chose to do the right thing and brought the money straight to me at the door. After a brief conversation about how difficult it would be to find the owner of the money and that the money had probably been dropped, we decided it should be donated to a local charity, thus showing love and care for others. Lucas took the money with him and promised to donate it. This shows that Lucas can be trusted and is a clear example of living out our school’s Christian values through his honesty. By making these decisions, Lucas demonstrated trust is an important value and means doing what is right, even when it is difficult. Lucas is a brilliant role model for others and his example encourages others to make the right choices, even when no one is watching, and reminds them that their actions can have a positive impact on the whole community. Well done, Lucas.

Whether it’s for help given, kind words, or shared moments, Evie never lets an opportunity to show gratitude pass her by.
Furthermore, it has been lovely to see Evie’s thoughtful encouragement of thankfulness in others. She gently reminds her classmates to appreciate the people and moments around them, helping everyone reflect on the importance of gratitude in our daily lives. Well done Evie, you are an asset to Year 3.
