Mental Health / Wellbeing

myHappymind Leader - Mrs D Taylor

Staff senior mental health & wellbeing Leader - Ms. A Loughran

Wellbeing Governor - Rev. P Hunter

We are proud to announce that we are a myHappymind Bronze Accredited school!

This means that as a school we consider the mental health and wellbeing of our children as one of our top priorities. We have created a whole school culture that helps build our children's resilience, confidence and self esteem as well as teaching them how to self regulate in those stressful times.

This Accreditation badge has been awarded thanks to all the effort our staff, children, governors and parents have put in to bring the lessons of myHappymind to life all around our school!

Overview of myHappymind

We are proud to be a part of the myHappymind Family! As a whole school program grounded in science and dedicated to building positive mental wellbeing, myHappymind helps children understand how their brains work and creates a culture that helps to build children's resilience, confidence, and self-esteem.

myHappymind also teaches the children how to self-regulate and manage their emotions in stressful times, allowing them to be their very best selves!

Our Commitment to Staff and Pupil Well-being

As a Christian school, our approach is rooted in our vision:  "Let us love not in word, but in truth and action." – 1 John 3:18

We believe that true care and support go beyond words. Through both our staff and pupil well-being initiatives, we actively seek ways to nurture a happy, healthy, and flourishing school community, where everyone feels empowered to be their very best.

At St. Anne's Copp Great Eccleston, we recognise that both our staff and pupils are at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to fostering a culture where well-being and mental health are prioritised, ensuring that everyone in our school community feels valued, supported, and able to thrive.

For our pupils, we actively support well-being through the myHappymind initiative, which helps children build resilience, self-awareness, and positive mental health habits. This programme is embedded in our school culture, equipping pupils with lifelong skills to understand and manage their emotions, develop a growth mindset, and celebrate their unique strengths.

In addition, Mrs Taylor has dedicated weekly time in her Emotional Literacy Support Assistant (ELSA) sessions.  Children are reminded of self-help strategies and have the opportunity to talk through worries or concerns they may be carrying.  School also has a number of external agencies we can signpost children to if needed.

To further demonstrate this commitment, we also have a dedicated Staff Well-being Governor who works alongside leadership to ensure staff well-being remains a key priority. We also have a yearly action plan in place to continually review and implement the best ways to support our team, promoting a healthy work-life balance and a positive working environment. Our Headteacher, Ms Loughran, also holds the Senior Mental Health Lead accreditation.
