Actions completed and embedded

Develop opportunities for children to plan and lead worship in order to support them in recognising their own value as worship leaders.

  • From September 2018, class worship for Thursdays was introduced - this gave whole classes the chance to work together to create a meaningful worship to share with the rest of school
  • From Autumn 2 2018, pupil worship on Tuesdays was introduced – pupils plan, lead and share worship based on current values; this has been developed over the year and pupils are in the process of accessing training to improve their delivery and engagement

Develop the teaching of key skills associated with Religious Education (RE) in order that all children making good or better progress.

  • Diocesan planning is followed by all and planning is built on as children go through school
  • RE Leader and Headteacher have had focused meetings and planning sessions to support the RE Leader with co-ordinating all areas of RE (she was new to the role in September 2019)
  • New assessments are in place – these have been developed to ensure that our pupils make good progress
  • Spirituality Days introduced from Summer 1 2018 to start the half term with a Christian focus and embed the Christian ethos

Increase involvement of governors in the self-evaluation of the school as a church school to further improve the scope and impact of self-evaluation process.

  • Vision and Values Committee was created in March 2019, initially to work on our new Christion vision but also to be involved in our self- evaluation as a church school
  • Governors feedback to FGB meetings and work with school to ensure that our vision is embedded
  • Our new vicar, Rev Paul, is also a governor and is fully on board with the continued focus on Copp as a church school
  • Specific governors have accessed training for church school self-evaluation
  • FGB are having Vision CPD at FGB in Autumn 1 2019
