Year Three

Welcome to Year 3!

This half term most children will be working from home.

All work will be uploaded to Class Dojo the evening before so that it is ready for the following morning.  Children are required to complete the English (spellings/PaG, reading and writing tasks), maths (Fluent in Five, Flashback Four and White Rose sheets) as well as a topic based lesson in the afternoon each day.

During the week we will catchup on Zoom, instructions will be given through video tutorials as well as reading of this half term's class book too.

Please message me on Class Dojo or e-mail me on if you need to make contact with me during this time.

Thank you,

Mrs Emery

Staff in Year 3

Teaching Assistant: Mrs H. Twigg

Maths and English Targets

The Year 3 children have maths and English targets (which are at the front of their relevant books).  Please ask your child their current targets as they should know them.

English and maths homework will be given on a Friday to be uploaded to Class Dojo by the following Wednesday at the latest please. Spelling homework will be given on a Tuesday and children must learn the spellings for the following Monday.

TTRockstars, Prodigy and Spelling Shed are all available for the children to use at home - they have their usernames and passwords on their bookmarks.

In addition, there may also be homework linked to our topic, but this will not be on a weekly basis.

Reading Books

Reading books will be changed as and when required if your child is a free reader. Those children who are reading books from the reading scheme will have their books changed twice a week on a Tuesday and Friday

Reading Area

We have a dedicated reading area in class.  The reading area has a wide selection of magazines, fiction and non-fiction books.

Before and After School

At the beginning of the school day, before registration (8.30 – 8.55 depending on arrival time), the children will have different maths, reading and writing activities to complete throughout the year.

At the end of each school day (3.15 pm) the children will be dismissed from the hall door.

General Reminders

The children will be doing PE twice a week (Monday and Tuesday) and so should wear their kits to school on these days - a white T-shirt, black/blue shorts/sports trousers, their Copp school jumper/cardigan and suitable trainers.

The children must also bring their own water bottle and hand sanitiser in from home, but please make sure that they are labelled.

I hope that this year will be an enjoyable year for all the children. Please feel free to contact me if there are any problems or anything which you wish to discuss with me.
