Copp Cadets Pre-School and Reception Class

2022 - 2023

Welcome to the Copp family.

This is such a special time in the school life of your child and we look forward to getting to know you and your child.  As they put on their uniform for the first time I’m sure you’ll be brimming with pride but wonder where the time has gone since they were a baby!

Our Topics

Every half term we will have a broad topic title. As inspiration, most of our learning will be based around a story. Working together to shape our learning and experiences means everyone is motivated and engaged in what we do.  Our ideas can take our learning in many exciting directions.

Reception Reading Books

In Reception, children will begin reading books from our reading scheme towards the end of Autumn 1. The book change days are Tuesday and Friday. Please make sure reading books are in school every day, so adults have the flexibility to read with children during the day.

General Reminders

  • Reception PE will days for Autumn 1 will be on Fridays. Please ensure they come to school wearing their PE kit. PE kit consists of blue/black shorts/leggings/joggers, a white t-shirt/polo and their Copp school jumper/cardigan.
  • The children may bring in their own water bottles from home, but please make sure that they are labelled.
  • The children receive free fruit as an afternoon snack and will be encouraged to try everything.
  • If your child wishes to have milk please visit the website www.coolmilk.com and register. Cool Milk will then add your child to the list, ready for the following week.
  • Class Dojo is a lovely way to share experiences from school and home. We would like to hear and see photos of what you have been dong at home. Have you been to grandma’s house, a party, played a game or have been to the park? Upload your experiences on your child's portfolio section on Dojo.

Finally

I would again like to thank you in advance for all your support this year and if you have any questions or concerns please don’t hesitate to contact me on ClassDojo or come in and see me.

Thank you for visiting our class page!
