What is Copp School Council? (CSC)
CSC is a group of pupils who are elected to represent the views of all children to improve their school. Each year voting takes place for the children who have been campaigning to be elected to the School Council.
2019/2020 was a very successful year for the children in CSC; they worked hard with the Junior Leadership Team to develop our school and begin to make it more sustainable by looking at how we can become plastic-free in the long term. We would like to thank Sophia in Y6 who led the council well and who has now moved on to high school.
What do we do?
Copp School Council meets around once a month to discuss ways they would like to improve our school, the local and wider community.
Members of Copp School Council will be responsible for carrying out the ideas that have been agreed, such as planning charity events, putting forward views of other children in the school and trying to make a difference to people who are not as fortunate as us.
On 3rd February CSC held a joint meeting with the Junior Leadership Team at the Civic Centre, where they discussed a range of issues, including Dementia, being a plastic-free school and embedding our Christian Vision. Please see the minutes for more information.
We will be elected our new school council in the first few weeks of term. Our new school council leader is Evie, who will work with Mr Harding to conduct the elections. Watch this space for more information!
